SUMMER IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
Congratulations to Also-Known-As, Inc. (NY) on being the first of many milestone anniversaries being celebrated this year! We hope those of you who were able to attend had an amazing time! If you couldn’t make it to New York, have no fear, there are plenty of opportunities to join the celebrations for the anniversaries of other organizations! AKF (Sweden) is celebrating their 25th Anniversary in August, AAAW (Seattle) is celebrating their 15th Anniversary in September, and AK Connection (Minnesota) is celebrating their 10th Anniversary in November! We hope to see you at one of the upcoming events!

AKF (SWEDEN) 25TH ANNIVERSARY, IKAA GATHERING AND IKAA ANNUAL CONVENTION
SAVE THE DATES: August 12 – 14, 2011
Adopterade Koreaners Förening (AKF) or Association of Korean Adoptees in Sweden is the oldest lasting Korean adoptee organization in the world! Founded in 1986, AKF will be celebrating it’s milestone 25th Anniversary this year by hosting an IKAA Gathering and the IKAA Annual Convention in Stockholm!
The weather in Stockholm is supposed to be wonderful in August, so come join us for an amazing weekend where you can explore Sweden’s capitol city, catch up with friends you met at the IKAA Gathering 2010 or other local events and make new friends!
Registration is now open and a discounted hotel rate has been negotiated for 2 hotels located steps away from the Finland House, where the event will take place.
The tentative program includes:
- Key note speech by Mrs Jessica Polfjärd, member of the Swedish parliament
- Panel discussion about family and the second generation of Korean adoptees
- Your personal Asian/Korean brand
- Speed-dating (gender neutral)
- Social dinner
- Global roots - international perspectives on Korean adoptee roots

- Panel discussion - the future of the Korean adoptee community

The registration fee for members of IKAA Associations is SEK 600. The late registration fee (after June 30th, will be SEK 1000). If you are a member of an IKAA Association or IKAA Affiliated Organization (IKAA Gathering 2010 Support Organization, etc…), please include this information when registering. Each participant over 12 years of age must register individually.

ASIAN ADULT ADOPTEES OF WASHINGTON 15TH ANNIVERSARY

ARIERANG (NETHERLANDS) 20TH ANNIVERSARY
SAVE THE DATES: September 16 – 18, 2011
Arierang has postponed their 20th Anniversary Celebration to September 16-18, 2011. Arierang invites you for a Dutch sailing weekend. We are sailing out with three ships from Batavia Harbour, Lelystad. You can stay over night on the ships and enjoy the company of fellow Korean adoptees, their spouses and children. On Saturday night, a Korean dinner will be hosted and of course the Dutch continue the tradition with a good party!
Registration fee for members of IKAA associations is 150 euro including meals and accommodation.
