Korean Traditional Culture Experience Excursion

Kongju National University is sponsoring a program for up to 100 IKAA Gathering 2007 participants called the Korean Traditional Culture Experience Excursion.

This FREE, 2 day, post-Gathering tour is open to adoptees and their families and will provide the opportunity to travel outside of Seoul to Gongju, the heart of the Baekje Dynasty!

Specific points of interest include traditional culture (cooking, dancing, games, musical instruments), Buddhist temples, exploration of the mountains near the temples and a visit to the Gongju Museum.

- Program: Korean Traditional Culture Experience Excursion

- Purpose: Provision of Korean Traditional Culture Experience Excursion to all the adoptees and family from Aug. 6th 2007 - Aug. 7th 2007 in Gongju, the heart of Baekje Dynasty, for a cultural experience.

- Period: Aug. 6th 2007, 9 am. - Aug. 7th 2007, 4 pm.

- Itinerary:


Aug. 6th 2007 (Mon.)

09:00 – 11:00   Trip from Seoul to Gongju
11:00 – 12:00   Sightseeing at Kongju National University (Welcoming Reception with the President of Kongju National University)
12:00 – 13:00   Lunch
13:00 – 17:00   Experiencing Korean traditional culture- traditional food cooking, dances, musical instruments & games
17:00 – 18:00   Trip to Buddhist Temples
18:00 - 18:30   Sightseeing at the temples
18:30 – 20:00   Dinner (Korean Traditional Food)
20:00 – 22:00   Experiencing Korean temple culture (Meeting with Buddhist monks and participating in Zen-Buddhist meditation)
22:00 – 07:00   Rest (Temple Stay)

Aug. 7th 2007 (Tue.)

07:00 – 09:00   Breakfast (Temple Food)
09:00 – 11:00   Sightseeing & mount-hiking at the mountains around temples
11:00 – 12:00   Excursion at the Gongju Museum
12:00 – 13:30   Lunch
13:30 – 14:00   Closing Ceremony
14:00 – 16:00   Trip from Gongju to Seoul

1.    No fees, service charges or charged optional tours
2.    Undertaking first 100 applicants only
3.    All meals and accommodations are included.  
        Meals: Western food, Korean traditional food & Temple food
        Accommodation: Temple Stay – Temple futon beds, No single rooms.
        No toiletries are provided
4.    Travel and medical insurances are applicants’ responsibility
5.    Kongju National University reserves the rights for the photos and audio-visual materials taken for the program
