REGISTRATION
You can register for the Mini-Gathering on the IKAA Website: here.
1. Who can register
Korean adoptees 18 years and older.
Their spouses/partners and their children.
***Please note that the conference is open to those who are 18+ years old, however the legal minimum age for clubbing and drinking in the United States is 21 years old.
2. Conference fee
The registration fee includes:
- Conference material
- Thursday Evening Welcome Reception
- All workshops and sessions on Friday and Saturday
- Lunch on Friday
- Transportation to the Gala Dinner
- Saturday Night Gala Dinner (does not include accommodation, airfare, transfers to and from the airport).
(The registration fee does not include accommodation, airfare, transfers to and from the airport).
Late Registration ENDS April 10, 2009:
$160 USD per person
No fee for children under 6 years.
3. How to register?
- Go to the Registration page and follow instructions as described on the Information page.
You will also receive an official confirmation email from the Registration Committee within 2 business days. If you do not receive an email from the Registration Committee after 2 business days, please contact: registration@ikaa.org.
Please note: Registration is not complete until payment has been received.
4. Deadline: April 10, 2009.
All registrations are subject to availability and will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
SUPERSHUTTLE GROUP DISCOUNT RATES
We have arranged a discount for the shared van service to and from the three NYC airports (LGA, JFK, EWR) for IKAA Mini-Gathering NYC participants!

To book online go to www.supershuttle.com. Print two copies for your round trip reservation.
• On the Welcome page, enter “GTX6B” in the Group/Discount code box.
• On the Itinerary tab, add your roundtrip itinerary.
• On the Address tab, enter “Hotel Name” and select “Search”
Choose specific Hotel, if various addresses on the next window
• On the Service tab, select “Shared Ride Van Service”
• On the Pick-Up Times tab, select the first time offered for fastest service
• On the Payment tab, select Credit Card under payment type
Enter desired gratuity
• On the Review tab, check your entries for correctness
• On the Confirmation tab, please print TWO copies, since you will be using SuperShuttle for a roundtrip transfer.
Upon arrival into any New York City Airport.
1. Claim your luggage.
2. Follow signs to the Ground Transportation Information desk in baggage claim, (lower level).
3. Guests should locate the courtesy phone next to Ground Transportation Desk. Press the appropriate button marked “SuperShuttle” to be connected with dispatch. Identify yourself as “IKAA” and give your confirmation number.

ART OF THE KOREAN RENAISSANCE, 1400-1600

There is a special exhibit happening at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, entitled “Art of the Korean Renaissance, 1400-1600,” with works from the first 200 years of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910).

Join the IKAA GATHERING AMSTERDAM from August 6-9, 2009!
For the first time since the Oslo Gathering in 2001, Korean adoptees in Europe and from around the world now have a unique opportunity to meet again in Europe, in the exiting city of Amsterdam. The conference takes place at the historical Hotel Arena in the city centre.
The Dutch and Danish associations for Korean Adoptees, Arierang (www.arierang.nl) and Korea Klubben (www.koreaklubben.dk), have joined forces and are working together to organize and co-host a fantastic event this August. Both associations are founding members of the IKAA Network.

What are the costs?
Register early and save 20%!
Before April 30 the conference fee is only €100 per person. From May 1 to July 15, the regular fee is €125. After July 15, the late fee is €150.
The conference fee includes:
Conference materials, Thursday Evening Welcome Reception, All Friday workshops and sessions, Lunch on Friday, Coffee and tea breaks, Entrance to the Friday Night K-Pride Party in the club "Tonight" (next to Hotel Arena), one of the most trendy clubs of Amsterdam (we have arranged a private balcony for the Gathering guests), Entrance to Saturday sports activities, and the Saturday Evening Gala Dinner.
Hotel Arena
The Gathering venue will be the Hotel Arena (http://www.hotelarena.nl/index.php?id=10 ), one of the most stunning meeting places on the edge of Amsterdam's city centre. The hotel has historical conference rooms and has recently been renovated, carrying a four star rating.
We have negotiated an exclusive room rate for Gathering participants per night: €139 + 5% city tax (normal rates are €289!).

The Gathering will be located in Amsterdam (www.iamsterdam.com ), a unique metropolis with canals, a vibrant nightlife and trendy design which attracts thousands of visitors each year. Optional cultural activities to discover the city will be arranged. More information will soon be available.
